Technician Alliance Privacy Notice

Effective August 11, 2026 ยท version 2026-08-11

We preserve incomplete legacy technician records and do-not-contact evidence. Missing contact or skill data is not treated as consent and does not make a record eligible for outreach.

Information collected

Depending on what you choose to use, we collect identity and contact details; membership and billing status; communication consent; skills, service area, travel and availability preferences; an optional mailing address; work-order terms and negotiation authorizations; support, survey, and feedback responses; and audit/security metadata.

Purposes

We use information to reconcile identities, prevent duplicate or suppressed contact, operate membership and billing, deliver requested reports and periodicals, provide work-order review and authorized negotiation support, answer support requests, protect the service, and produce delayed aggregate market insights.

Commercial email, postal mail, and do-not-contact

Commercial email requires affirmative consent and includes a simple unsubscribe path. Physical periodicals require separate postal consent. Revoking one channel does not silently revoke or grant another. A do-not-contact record dominates campaign eligibility and is preserved for suppression enforcement.

Payments and service providers

Stripe processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy practices. The Alliance stores provider identifiers, subscription state, amounts, and cryptographic evidence needed for reconciliation; it does not store full card numbers. Limited infrastructure, email, printing, and security providers may process only the data required for their contracted function.

Sponsors and publications

Sponsors receive aggregate campaign reporting only. We do not give sponsors a member's identity, address, individual rates, active offers, work orders, or negotiation records without separate affirmative consent. Published market data is delayed and requires minimum cohort thresholds to reduce re-identification risk.

Protection and retention

Sensitive addresses and rate policies are encrypted. Access is limited, audited, and purpose-bound. Consent, suppression, billing, and negotiation evidence may be retained to prove authorization, honor do-not-contact choices, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting needs. Other data is retained only as needed for the service or a documented recovery period.

Your choices

You may use the secure member portal to change communication and availability preferences. You may request access, correction, export, cancellation, or review of a suppression or identity conflict. We do not infer consent from a historical list or automatically overwrite a verified contact with newly sourced information.

Future contact and skill enrichment

Future enrichment, if enabled, will use documented public business sources, field-level provenance and confidence, conflict detection, human review, and suppression-first controls. Sourced information will never by itself authorize outreach.
